Information about Artsplan, the in-house training provider of ENYAN.

What is Artsplan?
Artsplan is Artswork’s dedicated training and publications department, promoting professional development opportunities for everyone involved in youth arts.
Artswork offers informal and formal advice, information and professional development opportunities to the youth arts sector. Through Artsplan, Artswork have developed the widest range of relevant, practical, creative training opportunities for professionals and volunteers currently using, or looking to use the arts in their work with young people.
Courses and programmes are consistently reviewed, evaluated and up dates to ensure the best possible training opportunity is provided.
Artsplan and ENYAN
Since June 2006 Artsplan has also become the in-house training provider of the English National Youth Arts Network (ENYAN) offering Full Members an additional 10% off all training and publications.
You can access Artsplan training regardless of whether or not you are an ENYAN member, a Free Member or a Full member.
Artsplan provides support for both organisations and individuals.
What does Artsplan offer?
Training
Artsplan runs over 20 courses, covering a range of practical issues relevant within youth arts.
Artsplan offers four types of training opportunities, at three levels:
- One day creative workshops
- Six day accredited training
- Distanced learning courses
- Tailored training / Consultancy
Artsplan training courses are delivered in three ways:
- Open courses – one day creative workshops and six day accredited training courses for individuals, run at Artsplan Training Centre’s across England
- Organisation bookings – one day creative workshops and six day accredited training courses, as well as tailored training and consultancy opportunities, delivered anywhere in the country, subject to arrangment
- Distanced learning – New for 2006, demonstrating an increased commitment to accessibility and inclusion, Artsplan is piloting a Distanced Learning course, and will increase to include the full range of courses if successful
Publications
Invaluable practical resources including:
- “Get Sorted” – a guide to planning, budgeting and funding your youth arts project
- the UK’s first Youth Arts Directory, published in conjunction with UPSTART magazine
Guidelines
Providing a useful introduction into specialist subject areas such as cultural diversity; disability; and young people at risk, with many complimenting current Artsplan training courses
Advice and Information
Through ENYAN Artsplan has been able to broaden the range of professional development support and information it provides via Case Studies, Publication reviews and training information.
Together, ENYAN and Artsplan will ensure youth arts CPD opportunities increase in quality, quantity, diversity and worth.
Artsplan has also led an another ‘first’ for the sector – the innovative, creative, interactive Youth Arts Learning Passport, available free of charge.
From time to time Artsplan also leads on delivering national or regional CPD events, such as the ‘eight’ event – first national professional development event for the youth arts sector, held in London in 2004.
